Gathering Wisdom in Qinling, Passing the Torch Forward — Chengdu University of Technology 70th Anniversary Global Flag Relay (Shaanxi Station) Successfully Held at Xi'an Intelligent Remanufacturing Research Institute
On the afternoon of December 20, 2025, under clear skies in the ancient city of Xi'an, a gathering of intellect and camaraderie—the Chengdu University of Technology (CDUT) 70th Anniversary Global Flag Relay (Shaanxi Station) and 2026 New Year Welcome Conference—was grandly held at the Xi'an Intelligent Remanufacturing Research Institute in the Xi'an Economic and Technological Development Zone. Nearly 100 alumni representatives based in Shaanxi came together to reminisce about their alma mater, discuss new plans for development, and present a profound tribute from the land of Shaanxi to CDUT's 70th anniversary through a unique format featuring scientific innovation reports and the flag relay.

At 14:00, the conference officially commenced with the passionate singing of the CDUT anthem. Tang Qingli, Deputy Secretary of the CDUT Party Committee, delivered a cordial greeting to the Shaanxi alumni on behalf of the university, highly commending the effective work of the Shaanxi Alumni Association and the remarkable achievements of the alumni. He reviewed the university's 70-year journey, shared the latest progress in its "Double First-Class" initiative, and earnestly expressed hope that alumni would continue to uphold the university's motto, strengthen connections, deepen cooperation, and jointly contribute greater strength to the development of their alma mater and national construction. Secretary Tang's heartfelt speech deeply moved and inspired all alumni present.

Wang Chunchang, President of the CDUT Alumni Service Center, expressed gratitude for the cultivation received from the alma mater and highly affirmed the unity and striving spirit of the Shaanxi alumni. Subsequently, the conference announced the establishment of the CDUT Shaanxi Alumni Service Center and simultaneously launched the Youth Innovation Development Committee and the Expert Committee, marking a new phase of systematic and professional development for alumni organization in Shaanxi.

Pu Cong, representing the Youth Innovation Development Committee, stated in his speech that the committee would dedicate itself to building a platform for communication and entrepreneurship among young alumni, stimulating innovative vitality. Representatives of the Expert Committee emphasized in their addresses that they would pool the wisdom of alumni experts from various fields to provide intellectual support for local development and alumni enterprises, jointly serving society. The launch of these two committees signifies that the construction of Shaanxi's alumni organization has entered a new stage of systematization and specialization, forming a new tri-driven pattern of "service, innovation, and think tank."

A brief handover ceremony was also held during the conference. The Chengdu-Shanxi Army Tianyuan Intelligent Manufacturing Football Team presented the championship medal, symbolizing unity and honor, to the President, and presented team flags to President Wang Chunchang, the team sponsor, and alumnus Jing Ningtao, in gratitude for their strong support of alumni cultural and sports activities.

Following this, the solemn flag relay ceremony brought the event to a climax. Witnessed by Deputy Secretary Tang Qingli and all alumni representatives, the representative of the Gansu Alumni Service Center solemnly passed the university flag, carrying the deep affection of countless alumni, to the representative of the Shaanxi Alumni Service Center. This was not only a relay across geographical space but also a continuation and promotion of the university motto, "Exploring Truth, Achieving through Engineering," in the northwestern region.

With the flag fluttering, the subsequent group photo and gift presentation session for the alma mater saw all attending alumni neatly line up outdoors, forming the patterns "70" and "CDUT" in a highly creative group photo, demonstrating their deepest blessings for their alma mater.
